Markus Haldin started fly fishing in 1992 at the age of 13. After taking a fly tying course from the renowned Finnish fly tyer Veli Autti, and then catching his first grayling, Markus’s love for fly fishing has only gotten stronger some 27 years later. Throughout his time of building fly rods with Blue Halo and Epic blanks, his love of fiberglass grew and led him down the path of creating his own brand of fiberglass blanks. It was a long process of designing, testing, and evaluating several tapers and builds, finally getting to his desired product. Wanting a lighter, faster, and stronger fiberglass blank, the Haldin Design Taper was born.
The HDT fast action S-Fiberglass blanks come in four sizes – 7’ 3wt, 7’ 5wt, 8’ 7wt, and the 8’ 8wt, in a variety of translucent colors. Renowned by rod builders and fly fishers around the world, the HDT will soon become your fly rod of choice.
